- toolbox/documents/I18N README
-
-
- Internationalization, or I18N for short, continues to be implemented
- under IRIX. Internationlized applications will increasingly become
- necessary. Although the following documents are not the completed,
- finished versions, they were included here in the interests of
- providing new information in as timely a fashion as possible and
- still meeting deadlines of releasing new toolbox versions.

- Primer.ps: IRIX Internationalization chapter
-
- DISCLAIMER: This copy of what will eventually be
- the Internationalization chapter of
- the IRIX Systems Programming Guide is
- a DRAFT and may be incomplete or
- inaccurate in some respects.
-
- This chapter explains basic concepts of software
- internationalization and interfaces under IRIX.
- After reading this chapter, the programmer
- should be able to write internationalized
- applications and should understand issues relevant
- to the software internationalization and
- localization processes. A simple recipe for
- internationalizing an application without all the
- detailed explanations is contained in the "IRIS
- Internationalization Nutshell."
-
- Nutshell.ps: This guide is an attempt to supply a high-level
- description of the issues involved in
- internationalizing software. Readers needing
- details of coordinating interfaces will find them
- in the IRIX Internationalization Primer (the chapter
- listed above).
